Spectra/Por Regenerated Cellulose Dialysis Membranes

Spectrum Medical Spectra/Por Regenerated Cellulose Dialysis Membranes represent a revolutionary advance in dialysis technology. Available in a variety of nominal molecular weight cutoffs, they carry practically no fixed charge. They also feature good chemical and pH resistance, and high temperature tolerance without significant changes in the MWCO rating. Membranes can be used with dilute strong acids and bases, concentrated weak acids and bases, most alcohols and some mild or dilute organic solvents, including DMSO.

Spectra/Por 1-4 are for separations at an approximate molecular weight cutoff. Supplied dry, they contain 10% glycerol, 0.1% sulfur and heavy metal traces. Use Spectra/Por 6 for separations at a specified MWCO. Supplied wet in a 0.1% sodium azide preservative solution.

The Spectra/Por 2 thin membrane reduces normal dialysis time by more than half. Similar to standard lab dialysis tubing.

The Spectra/Por 4 is Similar to the Spectra/Por 2 except thicker. Dialysis time is slower but more cost effective.

Spectra/Por 6 membranes have more specific retentivity than Spectra/Por 1-4. Supplied wet in 0.1% sodium azide solution, rinse with distilled water before using. These membranes have traces of heavy metal, but no sulfur.

Key Features

  • Symmetrical porosity for reproducible results
  • Will not absorb most solutes
  • Good chemical and pH resistance
  • High temperature tolerance
