Daigger Hygromycin B Liquid & Powder
Daigger Hygromycin B Liquid & Powder is an aminoglycoside antibiotic which inhibits growth of prokaryotic (bacteria), eukaryotic microorganisms (yeasts) and mammalian cells. Particularly useful as a selective agent for the incorporation of the APH4 gene in plant tissue. Inhibits peptide chain elongation by preventing elongation-factor EF-2 dependent translocation. Soluble in water; store at 2-8°C.
Liquid formula is supplied as 1 million units in solution per vial. 1 Million Units of Hygromycin B equals approximately 1 gram of lyophilized Hygromycin B Powder.
Powder formula has a potency of approximately 1,100 U/mg. Working concentrations vary from 30-1000U/mg, depending on cell lines and growth conditions.
