Whirl-Pak Hydrated PolySponge Bags

Whirl-Pak® Hydrated Polysponge™ Bags make environmental surface sampling faster and easier with pre-moistened bags. The medical-grade high-density polyurethane sponge provides improved rigidity making it easier to handle and manipulate than a cellulose sponge. It also resists tearing and fraying, allowing for vigorous scrubbing on irregular surfaces to disrupt biofilm.

Each sponge is packed in a sealed 18-oz write-on bag and is hydrated with 16 mL of HiCap™ Neutralizing Broth. Terminally gamma processed to guarantee sterility. Box contains five foil pouches with 20 sponges each for a total of 100 sponges. Bags are 9”L x 4”W with a thickness of 2.5 mils. Two-year shelf life with ambient storage at 36°-86°F (2°-30°C).

To use the sponge, tear open the top of the Whirl-Pak bag, squeeze out any access HiCap™ Neutralizing Broth, swab the surface, insert the sponge back into the bag, fold the top of the bag over three or more times, and bend the wire tabs to close. Now simply send to the lab for testing.

Choose from bags with (EF21636) and without a glove (EF21634). To use the glove (EF21636), tear off the glove pack along the perforation. The glove is folded with the wrist opening extended so it can be extracted from the pouch and fitted without touching the hand area.
