GE Whatman Qualitative Grade 3 Filter Papers are double the thickness of Grade 1 cellulose filter paper, this GE Whatman Grade 3 is typically used in qualitative analytical techniques to help determine materials in a sample. This grade has a finer particle retention and superb loading capacity thanks to the extra thickness. This allows more precipitate to be held without clogging up the filtering system. A high absorbency in this grade is particularly useful when the paper is used as a sample carrier.
The extra thickness provides added wet strength, conforming and compatible to Büchner funnels. Diameters for this grade of cellulose filter paper range from 5.5cm to 32 cm. Besides it functionality and ability to retain particles, the filters are extremely tough---molded from polypropylene with an integral, heat bonded filter.
