Corning® Disposable Sterile Filter Systems are designed for the filtration of cell culture media, biological fluids or other aqueous solutions through the use of a vacuum style filter. Disposable sterile filters are designed in a variety of membrane materials and available in a broad range of pore sizes to match the specifications of your application. Each system has the membrane material and pore size printed on the unit to differentiate at-a-glance, and is color coded to match the membrane type for easy identification.
Filters include a unique glass fiber prefilter that prolongs the membrane life and allows for longer use. The angled hose connector makes attaching the vacuum line easy. All receiver bottles feature easy-grip sides for great handling and increased versatility. The funnel is made out of polystyrene, as well as the bottle, with a polyethylene neck adapter.
Cellulose acetate (CA) membranes provide fast flow rates and low protein binding, and are good for filtering cell culture media. Polyethersulfone (PES) membranes provide the fastest flow rates, the lowest protein binding and low extractables. These are best for filtering cell culture media.
Cellulose nitrate (CN) membranes are good for filtering buffers where protein binding is not a concern. Nylon (NY) membranes are naturally hydrophilic, surfactant-free and offer the lowest extractables.
All units are individually wrapped and certified non-pyrogenic, also arriving sterile and ready for use.
