Corning® BioCoat™ Matrigel® Invasion Chambers are designed to mimic conditions of cell invasion through basement membranes. This is an in vitro system. Specific applications include: modeling the growth pattern of invasive tumor cells in vitro. The invasion chambers allow for rapid growth. Users can easily take reproducible quantitative measures of cell proliferation.
Corning BioCoat Matrigel Invasion Chambers are specifically tested for their ability to model invasion by cancerous cells. They are designed to allow HT-1080, an invasive human fibrosarcoma cell line, to proliferate. They are designed to exclude invasion of 3T3 cells (a non-invasive fibroblast cell line). Bacteria and fungi are eliminated before shipping.
Chambers must be frozen until use. They should be stored at -20°C. Corning BioCoat Matrigel Invasion Chambers are stable for around three months. The chambers feature FALCON cell culture inserts, an 8 µm PET membrane, and a uniform layer of Corning Matrigel membrane matrix.
