Celltreat Syringe Filters come color-coded and are distinguished by the membrane material:
PVDF — a low protein binding for filtration of non-aggressive aqueous and organic solutions. This material is for optimal protein recovery and high temperature filtration.
PES — A material with a low affinity for proteins and extractables, but a faster flow rate than PVDF. Typically it is used as a pre-filtration or filtration of buffers and growth media. The 0.10µm is ideal for mycoplasma removal.
NYLON — Nylons is a widely used application for scientific procedures, especially chemical filtration and beverage filtration.
PTFE — This hydrophobic membrane has a high temperature resistance, perfect for degassing/clarifying aqueous samples. It is a strong acid and alkali solvent filtration material.
MCE — A material that is very effective at binding trace proteins, oil particulates and bacteria.
SFCA - is a good choice for cell culture. Unlike CA, SFCA does not contain any of the pre-wetting agents found in CA and is lower protein binding and contains lower extractables than standard CA.
