As you may have noticed, we use a number of different catalog numbers throughout our catalogs and the web site. Each catalog number consists of a prefix, a number, and sometimes a suffix. Consider the following example:
ET5417C
The prefix, "ET," denotes that the product is in the online catalog. We use other prefixes, such as FH and KH for our other print catalogs. Although the prefix is different in every catalog for a particular product, the product number that comes after that remains the same. For example, ET5417C is the same product as FH5417C.
The number that follows, "5417," is the product number. As noted above, this number is always associated with that product.
The suffix, "C," is sometimes on a product to differentiate between several similar products. There may be several products with the catalog number ET5417, each with a different suffix. Not all catalog numbers contain a suffix.
