This micro-sized cell-disrupter violently agitates a sealed microcentrifuge tube containing a 0.1 to 1.0 mL tissue sample or cell suspension with hundreds of minute glass beads. Non-foaming method preserves delicate enzymes and organelles, and high yields of DNA/RNA can be quickly recovered by simultaneous disruption and extraction using phenol, Gu-SCN, or commercial kit solutions.

Features include a dual digital display of speed and time; four different speeds: 2500, 4200, 4600, or 5000 rpm; and an adjustable 0 to 5 minute timer in 10 second increments. Choose the optimal bead size according to your sample: 0.1 mm for bacteria; 0.5 mm for yeast, algae, and tissue culture cells; and 1.0 mm for plant and animal tissue. Beads and vials are disposable to eliminate cross contamination.

Includes 12 polypropylene vials with polyethylene caps that hold about 1 mL of lead-free glass beads, 0.1 to 1.0 mL of material to be disrupted, and 1⁄4 lb each of all five bead types listed below. Order additional beads and vials below.
