Optics: 10x paired, widefield eyepieces are inclined 45° degrees for ease of viewing and less neck strain. Eyepieces are equipped with left-side diopter adjustment and interpupillary distance control from 50 to 75 mm. Paired objectives (see available magnifications below) are parcentered, parfocalled, and achromatic. Choose microscope with a 20x (2x standard objective), 30x (3x standard objective) or 40x (4x standard objective) magnification from table below.

Mechanics: Frame is constructed of heavy duty cast metal with a gray enamel finish. Post mount allows for bidirectional vertical movements of the viewing head as well as 360° rotational movements, excellent for manipulation and examination of larger specimens.Focus control is carried out via a rack and pinion system with both dual right and left hand knobs. Slip clutch mechanism helps protect the focusing system. Tension adjustment is also standard on these microscopes. Base measures 115W x 197D mm. Two 80 mm stage plates, frosted glass and plastic black/white contrast, plus locked on stage clips included.

Illumination: High intensity 12 V/10 W incidental and transmitted illumination to help emphasize three dimensional nature of specimens. Incidental and transmitted light are controlled via separate switches to give the student more control over lighting.
