Optics: Widefield 10x eyepieces with built in revolving pointer. DIN standard 4/10/40x achromatic parfocalled, parcentered and color-coded objectives. 100x oil immersion objectives are also available, see table below.

Mechanics: Frames are constructed of rugged cast aluminum with a chemically resistant enamel finish. Triple aperture objective turret is equipped with ball-bearings for precise alignment and positive click stops for simple and sure magnification alterations. 100x oil immersion models have 4-hole turrets. Focusing is accomplished through a fine and coarse low position adjustment system. Fine focus is equipped with a graduated scale for determining depth of field. Slip-clutch protects the focusing mechanism from damage due to over-turning. Tension adjustment eliminates focus drift. Rack stop feature avoids damage to slides and lenses. Extra large and heavy bases and bodies help keep microscopes stable during use and also help to avoid accidents. Headpiece, eyepiece, and stage clips are all locked in for extra added security. Microscope head is inclined 45° and rotates 360° for increased viewing comfort. Features 110 x 120 mm stage with locked-on, spring-mounted stage clips or graduated mechanical stages to make specimen location quick and easy.

Illumination: Choose from mirror, 20 W tungsten lamp, 5 W fluorescent (excellent for cool, long life applications, without a need for a blue filter) bulb or cordless LED that uses 3 standard AA batteries (average lifetime 150 hours). The LED light source is excellent where electrical outlets are at a premium. Light intensity for the LED is the same as a 20W tungsten. Mirror model has no condenser. Standard models have a built-in 0.65 substage condensers with blue filter, equipped with a calibrated 5-aperture disc diaphragm. Oil immersion models have a 1.25 N.A. Abbe condensers with iris diaphragm and swing-out filter holder. See table below for illumination specifications.

Dust cover and a 5 year limited warranty are included. Fluorescent microscopes have a height of 365 mm, all others have a height of 360 mm.
