Retsch® ZM200 Centrifugal Mill
- Wide speed range, from 6000 to 18000 rpm
- Most versatile lab mill available, grind soft, medium hard, brittle and fibrous samples
- One hand operation, no special tools necessary
The Retsch® ZM200 centrifugal mill can carry out a wide variety of laboratory and pilot plant milling applications. Samples are placed into the central chamber and grinding is achieved through impact and shearing between the rotor and the fixed sieve. Centrifugal force pushes the sample against the rotor-teeth where it is pre-ground on impact, the sample is then finely ground between the rotor and the sieve which are positioned flush against eachother.
Grind foodstuffs, animal feed, plastics, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and much more. The ZM200 can also hold cooling agents, like liquid nitrogen or dry ice, in order to embrittle temperature sensitive, flexible or sticky samples for more thorough grinding.
The grinding chamber can hold up to a 900 ml manually loaded batch sample. The grinding chamber is easily accessed via a hinged lid providing for one hand operation. Add a cyclone and feeder to your system for larger samples, up to 5 liters (ordering information below).
The multi-lingual integral controller allows the user to enter and recall speed, drive load, operating hours, error messages and service intervals for added accuracy, resolution and tracking.
For a complete system, choose rotors and sieves below based on initial particle size, final particle size and material composition.
Choose a 6-tooth rotor for grinding bulky, coarse, and fibrous materials such as hay, straw, and feed pellets. Choose a 12-tooth rotor for less coarse materials like grains, pharmaceuticals, coffee, powder coatings, and spices. Choose a 24 tooth rotor for fine materials like chemicals, coal and sugar.
Standard sieves are ideal for most standard laboratory applications. Distance sieves reduce friction on temperature sensitive samples by providing extra space between the rotor and sieve screen. Heavy-duty sieves can be used with samples of up to 6 mohs in hardness.
Units operate at 120V 50/60 Hz and include a SS cassette base and a SS cassette cover. 220V 50/60 Hz units are also available. Please contact your Daigger Sales Representative for pricing and details.
For ultra-pure applications, where heavy metal contamination is a concern, contact your Daigger Sales Representative for pricing and availability on titanium-niobium coated rotors, sieves, cassette bases and cassette covers.
