These fume hoods use advanced technology to deliver superior containment while conserving energy. Unlike any ventilation enclosure before it, this hood maintains containment when operated at velocities as low as 60 fpm. Traditional fume hoods have a tendency for contaminants generated within the hood cavity to roll forward resulting in a high concentration of contaminants behind the sash in close proximity to the user's breathing zone. The Protector® XStream® removes contaminants in a single pass of air. This unique one-pass airflow design is attributed to four patented hood features:

	Upper Dilution Air Supply, commonly known as upper bypass, is designed to divert a portion of the bypass air down the backside of the sash. This pushes the contaminants away from the sash to ensure maximum containment.
	Rear Downflow Dual Baffle System has a unique slot pattern designed to direct the inflow air in a non-turbulent laminar stream from the face to the rear of the chamber in a single pass.
	Containment Enhancing Sash Handle is perforate directly atop the handle to bleed air into the hood chamber and direct contaminants away from the user's breathing zone. Sash handle sweeps air into the hood with minimal turbulence.
	Aerodynamic Airfoil with Clean-Sweep™ Creates a constant protective barrier from contaminants. In addition, should the operator inadvertently block the airflow entering over the airfoil, air continues to enter from beneath and through the Clean-Sweep™ openings.

Hood interior features chemical-resistant, fiberglass-reinforced composite panels. A vertical-rising, 3/16" tempered safety glass sash provides an added level of protection. The exterior is glacier white, epoxy-coated steel.

Front and interior access panels provide easy accessibility to plumbing. Light and blower switches are ADA-compliant. Also available are faucet and gas fixtures as well as the Spillstopper™ work surface and base cabinets.

Protector® XStream™ Hoods (EF9142AA, EF9142BB, EF9142CC) come standard with a prewired electrical duplex, two service fixtures (water and gas), and a kit for converting fixtures to to air and/or vacuum.

All models conform to SEFA 1-2002, NFPA 45-2000, ASTM E84-01, ASHRAE 110-95, ANSI Z9.5-1993, UL 3101-1/91010-1, CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 1010.1, and UL 1805 standards.
