Provides even glare-free illumination. Highly polished annular reflector spreads light from a 40-Watt bulb uniformly over the entire culture plate. Contrasted against the darkfield background, colonies are bright and readily distinguished.

Dish holder is adjustable for centering round dishes up to 100 mm and square plates up to 100 mm x 100 mm. Comes with white-ruled Wolffheugel counting plate and adjustable rod magnification lens. Lens rotates 360° for ready access to culture plates.

Built-in tilt stand, mounted in front or rear, allows unit to tilt for easier viewing. Also may be locked flat to the instrument base.

Choose from the manual or automatic counter. Automatic Counter has counting probe. When the probe is touched to a colony in an open dish, the built-in digital counter automatically records the colony. Touching the probe to the conductive surface of the agar complete in an electrical circuit which activates the counter.
