Apply knowledge acquired in Lab 1 (diffusion and osmosis) to plant transpiration. Students will measure how transpiration is affected under various environmental conditions using a potometer. Students will also prepare plant tissue slides in order to identify the different structures used to carry water and nutrients in plants. Background information encompasses transpiration in plants, along with illustrations of root and stem structures such as xylem and phloem. Kit also includes a microtome for slide preparation. Neo/Sci.
